Welcome to SAIT Residence
Our staff is focused on enhancing the Student Experience. We ensure that our living spaces support academic success. We believe in education outside of the classroom and provide programs and leadership opportunities. Living in residence cultivates understanding, tolerance and respect for others. We provide many resources such as educational programming and peer support right in house and are situated close to the multitude of services available to students on campus.
A parent’s familiarity with Residence can play an important role in a student’s success. Your son or daughter may need your encouragement to use Residence services and take advantage of opportunities. Two of the most common concerns parents bring forward are work orders that need to be placed and roommate issues. Please encourage your son or daughter to use one of the resources below to address their concerns. Using the proper mediums is the fastest way to have an issue resolved.
What you should know before you (family members, friends, acquaintances) ask for a student's information or call on their behalf:
- In accordance with the the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) legislation, SAIT Residence is not able to discuss particular details about a student with a parent, guardian, or family member, without the student's permission.
- That means in the event of calling on the student's behalf, their family member(s) or friend(s) may not be provided information regarding the status of - or information about - their residence application, assignment, fees or breach of community standards.
- If friends or family members don't know or forget their student's residence room number and request this information from our staff, we are not able to provide it.
These measures not only follow legislation, but also ensure the safety of residents. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
