Dr. Joanne Todesco
Dr. Joanne Todesco has served in a number of executive post-secondary roles throughout her career, and is the recipient of numerous awards such as the 2013 Canadian Association of Internes and Residents (CAIR) staff recipient of the Dr. Derek Puddester CAIR Award for Resident Well-being.
Todesco's background includes leadership positions in undergraduate medical education, academic tribunals and physician complaints tribunals. She was associate dean for Postgraduate Medical Education at the University of Calgary, program director of the Anesthesiology Residency Training Program at the University of Calgary and chair of the Student Academic Review Committee for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary. Todesco has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Calgary. She completed her Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine residency at Queen's University and University of Calgary, and holds a fellowship in executive leadership for women from the Drexel University College of Medicine and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University. She is currently a semi-retired academic physician and dispute resolution professional who is also a member and costume coordinator for a local performance choir and travels the world in pursuit of her interest in scuba diving.
